BB Kids: Nov. 30-Dec. 2 Weekend
Just one more day till December! Time to think about gifts, Santa photo opps, and ways to get the kids out of the house without freezing. Here are a few ways to spend the weekend, and a special offer for BB Kids readers below.
-A Lady Santa will be making an appearance at Mini Jake in Williamsburg Saturday and Sunday 2-6pm, so if creepy men in beards freak your kids out, maybe a woman will make them feel at ease. Fifth-generation Brooklynite Erica Goepel will be enrobed in a handmade costume based on traditional St. Nicholas images and a pro photographer will get your child and her on film for $20 with RSVP. First 15 families go home with a FREE gift from Mini Jake and a goody bag from the Hip Tot Music Fest!
-Enjoy brunch while your kids make cookies at Isa in Williamsburg on Saturday from 12-3pm. Just make sure they save you some.
-The Hip Tot Music Fest at Littlefield in Gowanus, Sunday at 2pm is getting a visit from Sesame Street’s Bob McGrath. You probably can’t picture him, but you’ll remember him by the “Who are the people in your neighborhood?” song. Details at hiptot.com.
-Make art with your child at Bird River Studios in Williamsburg this month, and they’ll help make it possible for youth hurt by Hurricane Sandy to make art, too. 50% of proceeds from their holiday workshops will go to The Children’s Movement for Creative Education’s Hurricane Sandy Art Relief Caravan, which is providing art therapy to kids in hard hit areas.
-Learn to batik and make your own batik-ed t-shirt, pillow, or accessory with your kids–or without them!–at Hiho Batik in Park Slope next Friday, Dec. 7 4-6pm. BB Kids subscribers get $10 off and 20% off in store. Details here.
-A Norwegian Park Slope mom has launched a site, ellaswool.com, where you can buy soft, warm and wooly Nordic knitwear for children so you don’t have to worry about them freezing their tushies off.
Have a great weekend and thanks for subscribing!
