BB Events: American Beer and BBQ

Behind the Pac Mans at Barcade and the vintage bowling lanes at Gutter are stellar craft beer selections that hint at owner Paul Kermizian’s other claim to fame: a “bockumentary” called American Beer. His film captures an epic cross-country road trip he and four friends took to visit 38 breweries in 40 days. (What stamina!) The journey was so inspiring to one of the guys in the car, Jeremy Goldberg, he started his own brewing company, Cape Ann, brewers of the Fisherman’s brand of beers.

If you haven’t tasted Goldberg’s beer, or seen Kermizian’s ode to the open road and American brewmasters, this Wednesday, August 26, you can experience both on the patio of Hope Lounge in Williamsburg. Cape Ann is sponsoring the outdoor screening of American Beer, which Kermizian will introduce in person. The $12 tickets, available online now and at the door, include a complimentary pint of Fisherman’s Bavarian Wheat.

As an added bonus, the 50th attendee will win two American Beer pint glasses (who wouldn’t want to clink and drink from those?) and a copy of the DVD (which you can also try to snag from our friends at The Skint later today.) Hope Lounge is also offering a free beer with every $7 burger (Sirloin, Turkey or Boca!), so you can eat, road trip and drink for less than tolls and gas on the Thruway!
