Sunday Sunday Sunday!

After Green Bay, Giants fans are the most loyal in the NFL (says Internet research firm Dulcinea Media) — which means going to a sports bar on Sunday will be a zoo. So we found three non-sports bars offering good food, and at least one flat screen.

Rustik Tavern in Bed-Stuy: Yes, it’s opening this weekend — perhaps on Saturday at 4 pm, but for sure this Sunday at 11 am. The owner, Frantz Metellus, promises at least a limited version of the menu. His words: “If I don’t have nachos, I’m nothing.”

Fette Sau in W-burg (354 Metropolitan Ave., 718-963-3404): Say this in your best Homer Simpson voice: Mmmmmmm. Barbecued Pork Belly. That’s reason enough to park it here, and the amazing burnt end baked beans just sweeten the deal.
Brazen Head in Cobble Hill: This neighborhood pub for beer connoisseurs promises free wings, $4 beers, and, as of now, about 20 $5 boxes left in their football pool.

The Diamond in Greenpoint (43 Franklin St., 718-383-5030): Owner Dave Pollack says the primo, no-TV beer bar is “getting off our high horse for the day” and offering blind tasting flights of Coors and Miller-type beers (which you get free if you guess right!), free chili, and most importantly, a projector and large screen to watch the game.

UPDATE: BB contributor Alicia Kachmar compiled a great round-up of other Brooklyn bars for best Super Bowl viewing, here on Gridskipper.

Art Party
The Gowanus Studio Space, a non-profit workspace for artists, designers, and crafters, is throwing its grand opening fete this Friday from 6 pm to midnight. Membership for 2008 is already full — but you can check out the space and the members’ work, priced $40-70, during the DJed benefit party. The $7 admission (which includes free beer) will support the studio in all its endeavors, like the soon-to-come public classes in everything from printmaking to woodworking. gowanusstudio.org

comedy.jpgLOL
Murderfist — a sketch comedy group that frequents The PIT in Chelsea and the East Village laugh factory Rififi — is hosting the Brooklyn Underground Comedy Festival this Friday and Saturday at 8 pm at the Bushwick Starr with 10 other performers like Rue Brutalia (whose Whittlin video gave us a good laugh).

Datebook
Band of Horses and Dirty on Purpose are playing the Brooklyn Masonic Temple on Valentine’s Day. If Neurosis and Mastodon wasn’t your bag, this should be a great show in what’s shaping up to be Brookyn’s cool, new alt music venue. boomboomnyc.com

happy.jpgLast Call
Even while buried waist high, and later, up to her neck in “Happy Days,” the amazing Fiona Shaw makes her audience laugh, smirk, and nod in appreciation, just from her facial expressions alone. The end-of-the-world scenario of Beckett’s play is undeniably bleak, but Shaw (mostly) keeps the darkness at bay with her chipper chit chat and her hilarious attempts to engage her distant, disinterested husband. It ends Saturday. bam.org
