Taco Tip
Chinantla—a neighborhood taqueria of BB’s—has just reopened after a massive renovation. Now the formerly shabby market and take-out joint, which serves excellent $2 tacos of the bistic, pollo, enchilada and especially carnitas varieties, looks like a four-star bodega, with fresh queso, produce, spices, and prepared mole and pipian verde sauces in front, and tables and a flat screen in back. Since the reno, the tacos have only improved. The other night, grilled nopales and jalepenos adorned our steak taco, along with fresh radishes and cukes. Robert Sietsema and taco Chowhounders — you’re wanted here stat. (718-222-1719, 657 Myrtle Ave., btwn Franklin and Skillman)
