White beers (think: Hoegaarden) are the perfect beers for summertime, and tonight, the Gate is the perfect place to find them. Billing the evening as a Whiteout, the Park Slope bar is serving twelve different takes on this light Belgian-style brew. The one-night-only menu features several New York microbrews, including the Apollo Wheat from Brooklyn’s own Sixpoint Craft Ales. Taps start flowing at 7pm. site>>

regs.jpgEveryone in the Pool!
It’s a busy week at the McCarren Park Pool. First up, those Yankee Hotel Foxtrotting indie rockers Wilco play tonight (find last minute tix here>>), followed by the quirky Bronx-bred Regina Spektor, pictured, on Friday (tix>>). Idiosyncratic hip-hop outfit Aesop Rock plays the free Pool Party on Sunday (site>>). Afterward, the Music Hall of Williamsburg hosts Hip Hop Karaoke. First 10 to take on a song by a Brooklyn emcee — think Biggie, Jay-Z or OBD — compete for the $200 prize. site>>

Co-op or Not
Tomorrow at 7 pm at Queen of All Saint’s Church, 300 Vanderbilt Ave., the Greene Hill Food Coop will discuss the pros of a 100 percent working coop, like Park Slope’s (one of whose farmers, Amy Hepworth, was the subject of a great NY Mag profile last week) — and that of a non- or partial-working coop, like most in the U.S. If you’re still thinking of joining, arrive early and weigh in. site>>

SpongeBob SamPants
Sam Henderson, an artist who has worked on everything from SpongeBob SquarePants to Nickelodeon magazine, celebrates the 11th issue of his delightfully crude “Magic Whistle” comic series with a signing and party at Desert Island on Friday. site>>

Art in the Flesh
English Kills Art Gallery (the Bushwick space that hosted the phenomenal Judith Supine show a few months ago) presents “Maximum Perception: Contemporary Brooklyn Performance,” a showcase of 30 local artists featuring photography, video and, most notably, live performance art during all gallery open hours, lending a round-the-clock-opening feel to the entire show. The Big Top
Each year, we’re totally impressed by the South St. Seaport’s temporary venue Spiegelword, whether it’s the beer garden’s drop dead Brooklyn Bridge (and now Waterfalls) views, or the great “Absinthe” variety show in its opulent 1920s tent. Tickets are a tad overpriced ($50+) for our tastes, but once a performer comes within smashing distance of your face, it all seems worth it. This year, the hilarious MC of last summer’s “Absinthe,” the Gazillionaire, has his own late night (and less expensive) show, and the concert lineup includes greats like Martha Wainwright — singing Edith Piaf! site>>

Ticket Watch
If there is one show BB is still kicking itself for not seeing, it’s the internationally acclaimed play, “Black Watch,” about the Scottish regiment’s final tour in Iraq, based on interviews with former soldiers. It returns to St. Ann’s for 8 weeks in October, and to find out what the fuss is about, buy your tickets now. site>>

Another hot ticket now on sale: TV on the Radio, whose new album “Dear Science,” is due Sept. 23, comes to Brooklyn Masonic Temple Oct. 14 & 15. site>>
