F-Stop
Dumbo-dwellers Daniel Power of powerHouse Arena and Frank Evers of VII photo agency have organized the country’s first International Photo Festival this Wednesday through Sunday in their hood, featuring two dozen photographers from Harrell Fletcher of Learning to Love You More fame to British firestarter Sarah Pickering (whose “Fire Burst,” 2004, is pictured). Exhibitions, talks and a three-day photojournalism seminar will be held at 10 different venues like the new Galapagos, which is slated for a late June opening but will serve as an exhibition space for VII photos and Nigel Parry. Buy tickets online today to save $5 off the $20 pass. nyphotofestival.com

Open Studios
In time for the fest, 147 Front St. will hold an open studio tour tomorrow along with two other hoods this weekend: SONYA (sonyaonline.org), or South of the Navy Yard, which includes Bed-Stuy’s awesome artists’ hive, 35 Claver Place, and Park Slope (download map here), where Madarts hosts the opening night festivities tomorrow, 8 pm-midnight. madarts.org

noir.jpgReadings
Akashic Books celebrates the third volume in its best-selling Brooklyn Noir series, “Nothing But the Truth,” filled with true crime stories from around the borough. Tomorrow at 6:30 pm, the contributors and editors read at the Brooklyn Historical Society, with Marty Markowitz in the house. brooklynhistory.org

Amy Sohn, Louise Crawford and six other writer-moms share tales from their not-so-saintly lives at the Second Annual Edgy Moms Reading and Cocktail Party tomorrow night at the Montauk Club. Drinks at 7 pm; reading at 7:30. montaukclub.com

Beer Tastings
Barrette is hosting a $25, four-course beer tasting dinner with Peak Organic brewing company including venison sliders this Thursday from 7:30-9:30. 601 Vanderbilt Ave at Bergen, 718-320-5170.

Art Fare
kels.jpg At Kelso’s 5,000-square-foot brewery in Clinton Hill, six artists from the Gowanus Studio Space will show their installations 6 pm-10 pm on Friday, and on Sunday from 2-6, when Kelso throws its annual BBQ with food from finger-lickin Fette Sau (suggested donation $10). It’s invite-only, so email angela@gowanusstudio.org to save a spot. kelsoofbrooklyn.com

cakes.jpgSweet Tooth of the Tiger launches its gallery hopping bakery this Friday at Clinton Hill’s Pink Elephant Projects and Williamsburg’s Secret Project Robot on Saturday. The renegade bake shop replaces standard wine and cheese fare at art openings with sweets like lemon buttermilk cupcakes and seven-layer Renegade Bars, because “infusing a community with sugar creates hyper-ness and encourages conversation,” says Tracy Candido (left right), who concocted this social experiment/bake sale with fellow NYU grad student Alicia Blegen. Whatever you call it, those Renegade Bars, filled with coconut, caramel, oats and chocolate, sound delish. sweettoothofthetiger.com

BB Turns One!
bday21.jpg This year today we launched with a post about the inaugural Brooklyn Uncorked (which returns tonight). If we were to do a best-of since, it would include the Fix-It List, the hilarious texting adventures of Leila Sales (who’s now writing for us), the news of Diner & Co.’s in-house butcher (which we totally broke!), and our April mix tape. Toast our first year — forward BB to a friend!
