What We’re Watching

After dancing at Magnetic Field to The Sweet Divines, a spin-off of the old soul throwbacks The Dansettes; seeing the incredible Fiona Shaw, a force of life in the post-apocalyptic production of Beckett’s Happy Days at BAM; admiring Christine Sciulli’s mesmerizing light and video installation at Ch’i Contemporary Fine Art; partying at the farewell (for now) to Pies ‘n’ Thighs; or buying tickets to Joanna Newsom’s and The National’s newly added second shows at BAM (on sale at 10 am today), at some point you will be back on the couch, wondering what to watch.

Since the writers’ strike has left so few options, and we couldn’t call Netflix, BB asked clerks and owners of local video stores to tell us what’s flying off the shelves, and their favorite films, all-time or right now.
