Vine Wine: Lively Wines and Lovely Liquor

This Pierre Moncuit Champagne is bright and crisp with tiny, soft bubbles; it's almost like a champagne-flavored meringue in your mouth.
This magnum of Tant Mieux, a sparkling rosé from French winemaker Philippe Bornard is the dreamiest party wine ever.
Get a white wine-loving pal a Tatomer two-pack of Riesling and Gruner Veltliner made by an Austrian-trained winemaker in California.
Breuckelen Distillery makes this New York Wheat whiskey here in Brooklyn.
Loaded with floral notes, lemonbalm and violet, Meadow of Love Absinthe from Delaware Phoenix should be given to special someones everywhere.

The selection at Vine Wine in Williamsburg defies easy categorization. Sure, they have plenty of biodynamic, natural and organic wines. And yes, they have an entire section dedicated to magnums and other larger format wines (which are the most fun ever to bring to a party). The store also has a stellar selection of wines for $15 and under, a ridiculous amount of sherry, and a small, but gorgeous assortment of liquor. Basically, owner Talitha Whidbee stocks and sells wonderful, carefully made wines and liquors that she loves to drink. Here are a few of their favorite party gifts, special treats and corks to pop right now.

On Saturday, Dec. 22, from 3pm to 6pm Vine will host a free tasting of whiskeys from Breuckelen Distillery, with snacks.

Simple, Natural, Irresistible Gifts for Your Body and Home: skinnyskinny

With scents of grapefruit, lemon, blood orange, and clementines, the Citrus Gift Set is like sending someone a box of citrusy-sunshine.
The supremely luxurious Ginger Lime Body Scrub smells good enough to eat (and like all skinnyskinny products is certified organic, vegan and cruelty free!)
Our favorite time-saver: skinnyskinny dry shampoo. A tiny bit will make your hair look as amazing as if you'd spent an hour washing and styling it, and smells yummy too.
The air plant terrarium kit is a super sweet gift (and just $25!)
This Vanilla Orange Body Butter absorbs quickly, is non-greasy, and has such a pleasant scent.

Since Clara Williams first began selling her organic, wonderful smelling soaps online in 2007, skinnyskinny has been a longtime favorite shop of ours. Today, along with her new site, Williams has a beautiful, rustic storefront built with reclaimed materials on the corner of Grand and Roebling in Williamsburg, filled with new skinnyskinny products like dry shampoos and body butters and sweet gifts like terrariums. Everything she stocks does double duty as a product that will make you feel great because of its quality and because its all-natural ingredients place little impact on the planet. Here are a few great gift ideas available in the store and online–you’ll have a hard time not keeping some for yourself.  Read More »
